Our Story
A Family Diagnosis That Changed Everything
Founded in 2001, Flax4Life began after a family member endured a long health battle and received a final diagnosis of Celiac Disease that provided answers and sparked a broader awareness that revealed generations of the family living with gluten intolerance and food sensitivities. That revelation changed our path forever. Looking at the store shelves, we saw gluten-free options that were bland, dry, and packed with empty calories. We set out on a clear mission: to create safe, deeply satisfying baked goods that offer genuine nutritional value alongside incredible taste.
Nutritious by Nature, Inclusive by Choice
For over two decades, our hero ingredient has been wholesome flax. Packed with fiber, Omega-3 fatty acids, and essential micronutrients, flax transforms everyday treats into functional foods designed for balanced nutrition and sustained energy. We craft every recipe so no one ever feels left out at the table, expanding our recipes into a wide variety of Gluten-Free and Allergy-Friendly favorites:
- Original Line: Soft-baked Muffins and rich Brownies
- No Sugar Added Line: Mini-Muffins and Brownies made without added sugar
- Top 14 Allergen-Free Line: Allergy-friendly Muffins, Brownies, Cookies, and our brand-new Cornbread

In Memoriam
Bill Francis passed away suddenly on November 18, 2025, after a short illness. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bill was involved in businesses in Whatcom County since the late 80's. His pursuit of the bakery business was a family legacy that began in the 50's. His passion for creating bakery products, which started Flax4Life, was brought on by his brother, who became very ill with Celiac Disease. He, along with our team, created a business that has stood the test of time and has existed for over 25 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him
